| | | About ATO 5 | ATO 5 Bologna is a public agency dealing with water and waste services operating on the territory of the province of Bologna (Emilia-Romagna region, Italy).
It was constituted in 2002 by the provincial administration of Bologna and 60 municipalities.
Mission
These are our main duties:
- to define the Plan of the services (water and sewarage, waste management), including the identification of necessary investments)
- to define the standards of the services
- to sign contracts with the companies which will manage the services/ to award contracts after a call for tenders
- to control the utility companies' doings
- to fix services' tariffs
The identification of the best managing models for the provision of water and waste services must be oriented by the criteria of efficiency, effectiveness and economy.
Users' advisory committee
The users' advisory Committee is constituted by representatives of consumer, economic, social and environmental associations and of the trade unions.
It supports ATO 5 in monitoring the utility companies' doings, in determining tariffs and in general in acquiring users' assessment of the quality and standards of water and waste services.
