| | | Integrated water service | The expression "integrated water service" was introduced by an Italian law in 1994. It includes the whole cycle of water for civil use: supply, drinking water treatment and delivery, sewage system, purification plants.
The main act ATO 5 must produce is the "Piano d'ambito" (Area Plan).
Through this Plan ATO 5 defines:
a) the best model for the organization and management of the service
b) the business plan for the service
c) the plan of needed investments, including their timing
d) goals and quality standards
e) water tariffs.
The first "Piano d'Ambito" was approved on december 20th, 2004: the Italian version can be downloaded.
